Everdina Maria
 |
It was a pleasure to welcome the 15-metre Bestevaer called Everdina Maria to our yard. As the first ever boat from K&M Yachting this classic piece of boating heritage from the boards of the legendary Gerry Dijkstra has now been returned to her original state.
The yacht was originally launched as De Vrijheid (freedom) in 2001 for a client who was embarking on a world trip, which meant that every possible piece of equipment was installed onboard. The current owner purchased her in Denmark, after asking Balk for advice. We were pleased to make an inspection of the yacht and create a clear plan of action for the client.
The complete overhaul included a new hull colour, a new paint job for the rest of the exterior, sanding of all the decks and giving them new rubbers, and completely revarnishing all the stunning woodwork. We also removed the engines and generator taken, overhauling and replacing where required.
The mahogany interior of the yacht had previously been dismantled and changed. We have returned Everdina Maria to her original condition, including authentic cockpit seats and all-new upholstery. The masts and sloop rigging have been removed, renovated and repainted. This yacht is now a fully up to date and modern vessel, while retaining all the classic charms that make her so special.
