Nickeline


The 25.70-metre Moonen Nickeline is sister ship to the famous Dutch royal yacht Jumbo. This refit is being undertaken for an owner who has been a regular client at Balk with various different yachts over the years. The current work list consists of almost 100 items, ranging from an entirely new deck on the foreship and a new paint job for parts of the exterior to major renovations in the interior such as window repairs, new ceilings and a refit of the bathrooms. On the technical side we are carrying out an upgrade of the switchboard in the wheelhouse, completely cleaning and overhauling all tanks, servicing the engines, and installing new/upgrading existing pump systems. The hydraulic systems are enjoying a thorough maintenance check with several major components being renewed. The yard is also carrying out a range of other activities in the engine room and elsewhere. This project is an excellent example of how Balk Shipyard can cover quite literally any aspect of a refit. From the most technological and sophisticated modern equipment to genuine ‘old school’ hands-on craftsmanship, you can rest assured that everything will be taken care of to the highest quality level.
